Resolutions wk 5

Resolutions wk 5

Once again I was left uninspired. My initial plan was either to do something with charcoal or ordinary pencil, but I simply could not find anything that gave me a jolt. I ended up doodling with an ordinary ballpoint pen, and before I knew it, I had drawn a little mouse with attitude.

Resolutions wk 4 – One feisty bird

The outcome of this week’s resolution turned out to be way more fierce than I expected! Again, after much mulling what I wanted to do, I ended up digging up my pastels. Now why did I put them away again? I love working with pastels, I’m reminded how much the material suits me. Overall I’m … Continue reading

Good enough

Just when exactly is something good enough? When faced with high expectations, be it your own or from those around you, this question is very much present. Is sheer perfection the only answer? Is that even attainable, or do we set ourselves up for inevitable failure? Crash and burn when you finally realise the bar … Continue reading

Resolutions wk 3

This was one of those weeks where one thing just didn’t work, no matter how hard I tried. It just wouldn’t budge. So I gave it my best shot, but at the end I had to give up and do something else. So here is my first attempt. After quite some frustration at just not … Continue reading

Resolutions wk 2

Week 2 of my resolution… It took me many attempts to get this. Plenty of frustration and lots of huffing & puffing, before I went back to the ordinary HB pencil and went at it. It took its time before it returned to me. In honour of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the … Continue reading

Happy Valentine!

Let’s be honest here, when it comes to the matters of the heart I am absolutely clueless. It has me completely schtumped. Hopeless. It shouldn’t come as a great surprise. Surely. Then again I don’t think I’m the only person on the planet, who is rather clueless in this area.

Resolutions wk 1

As I noted earlier, late in January I came with my ‘brilliant’ idea to make a resolution. To do something creative every week. As soon as I had started, I remembered why I had stopped making any resolution for years. But as I have said it, and made it known to everyone, I was kind … Continue reading

Signs…

Signs…

Luckily nothing as shambalic as the movie, so fortunately for you no Mel Gibson popping up in this post. That…would be, well, no. Just no. What am I referring to is something much, much more tangible. Or maybe not, depending on who you are of course. As a matter of fact I’m talking about those … Continue reading

One tiny question…

One tiny question…

After a rather weird start of the year, with January spectacularly doing my head in metaphorically speaking, February seems to be the anchor¬† that brings everything down back to Earth. I can’t deny I still have some serious doubts. It’s in these quiet moments doubt comes out and starts to ask all the uncomfortable & … Continue reading

Late resolutions…

Last week I made a late resolution, it’s never too late in the year to make one, right? Though now I’m reminded why I’ve stopped making resolutions years ago, generally they are not the easiest to keep. Of course usually they are rather vague, like “I want to lose weight.” or “This year I will … Continue reading

Mad rush

When the clock struck midnight on December 31 I was glad to see the end of it, 2013 was all in all underwhelming and well, just not a great year. Of course there were a few lovely moments, but personally it didn’t feel like anything. Looking back it feels very much like a filler year. … Continue reading
