Resolutions wk 17

Week 17 didn’t start out too well.

Well, actually it didn’t start at all. Once I had conquered my biggest hurdle so far: a Self-Portrait, I was a bit at a loss what to do next. I didn’t exactly know what direction I should take the next few weeks, it was like I had reached the top of a mountain, but once I was there it felt like a very small victory. As I didn’t end up enjoying the view, but worrying where to go next.

It took me a while to figure that one out, in the meantime after reading a post at Me + Richard about a post I had made I had garnered an idea for #18. And incidentally during the making of 18, I have some rough idea what I want to do for either #19 or #20.

Anyway I ended up playing with paint, acrylic as I hadn’t used it for a while now. Ah yes, now I remember why I do enjoy painting with it again. It’s a very bad rendition of me, but I had fun with it. And I notice I don’t really care it doesn’t resemble me in any shape or form. I was more absorbed by painting itself.

And as always, I manage to not fit it on paper.

  1. That is definitely a different perspective — and it also feels interpretive. Can’t want to see what you do next.

Say what?
